With renewable technologies being a priority, a Solar PV scheme formed part of the energy reduction plan for the building.
Step Energy were appointed to design and install a renewable energy scheme that would maximise the available pitched and flat roof areas, installing Solar PV during the main build programme which reduced the risk associated with a retrofit option. 59 375W In Roof Solfit PV panels were installed on the pitched roof areas with a further 59 420W PV panels in a ballasted array on the flat roof area, combining 30Kw of inverters the 32.21kWp system is estimated to generate 27,050 kWh annually saving an estimated 5.23 tonnes of CO2 the equivalent of planting around 240 trees.
